Online Somatic Psychotherapy and Coaching

You Landed in the right place if…

You tend to experience anxiety and fear in different ways, like an anxious pit in your stomach or  heaviness in your chest.

Your mind frequently bombards you with racing thoughts that are often critical of yourself and others.

Old psychological trauma still plagues you after years of inner work.

…it doesn’t have to be this way?

Therapy can help you transmute your pain into joy and self-love.

You may be thinking, “I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t work.”

That’s because not all therapy is created equal.

Integrative Somatic Therapy is the Key

There are hundreds of modalities of psychotherapy out there.

Some place emphasis on emotions, others on thoughts and others on action. They are all useful and have their place.

But it isn’t until embodiment and working directly with the nervous system are included in therapy that emotional alchemy really begins to happen.

Let me give you an example,

In traditional therapy you might talk about how you feel disconnected and anxious when you are in the presence of a particular person.

You might even realize that this person reminds you of your mother.

It is useful to see this, for it will give you understanding.

However, after many sessions of talking about this pattern you might  find that it has not changed. You know more about it, but it keeps happening.

In contrast, In somatic integrative therapy

You sense the shakiness in your body, when you recognize that the person reminds you of your mother.

And then you might make some gentle movements, sounds and tapping to help release the stuck energy in the body.

These and other techniques help get at the root of the issues, by working with the energy in the body, and actually healing trauma,  not just circling around them indefinitely.

In Somatic Integrative Therapy, we Start by Creating Inner Safety

We achieve safety by practicing various kinds of  breathing techniques,

making particular sounds,

tapping acupressure points,

and movements that support Parasympathetic (the calming aspect of the nervous system) activation.

This inner safety allows the nervous system to relax, making it easier to release old patterns.

But somatic therapy with me is more than just calming techniques

it’s about meeting your experience with presence, the awareness that lies within you, the innermost self behind all your thoughts and feelings.

When we are in touch with the depth of who we are, we feel spacious, grounded, and peaceful amongst other things.

These qualities of experience are particularly powerful when working with our trauma, because as we embody them, we don’t get so easily overwhelmed by our emotional wounds.

It is much easier to transmute our trauma from the depth of who we are, than when we are trying to heal from the same level of consciousness in which the wounding operates.

Step Into Something New

What if you could find within yourself a place, a refuge from the constant bombardment of the mind or the overwhelming emotional reactions and fears?

What if you could connect with a sense of confidence that is not based on money or success or anything external, but in your ability to trust yourself – unconditional confidence?

What if fear was not a problem? And that every time you experienced fear, instead of trying to get away from it, you see it as a sign of growth – a sign that you are entering new territory?

I’m here to tell you that it’s possible.

But it requires that your attention turn toward your inner world.

It requires that you get intimate with your feelings, your fears, your thoughts, and your body.

It requires a willingness to be with your vulnerability.

It requires a willingness to work your unprocessed trauma

Are you ready to commit to these things?

If so, I would love to help you!

Let’s talk

Hi, I’m Manuel Manotas.

I know trauma.

I know anxiety.

I know depression.

I know what it’s like to try and feel good based on externals. And I can tell you again and again it does not work.

On the other hand, turning inward and meeting our fear, our shame, and our vulnerability face to face is the pathway to find our true strength, our true will, our true power, and our compassion.

And I can help you with that.

I individuals rewire their nervous systems.

Through somatic, meditative and energetic practices, I help them develop ways to better regulate their nervous systems,

increase their comfort with their internal experiences,

increase their inner peace,

and increase their capacity for presence.

We do all this, while  uncovering previously unconscious aspects of themselves.
